Currently belong to two Making Music member choirs - Holmfirth Choral Society and Sheffield Bach Society and am the person who does the website for Making Music Y & H Region (also for Holmfirth Choral Society).

Co-opted onto the Regional Committee in June 2004 in order to take over the maintenance and development of this website (sorry if I've been a bit slow off the mark doing it - there's still a lot more to do as well)!

I've sung with many choirs (perhaps too many!), ranging from Sheffield City Grammar School Choral Society, run by Edward Taylor (in the 1950s & early 1960s) to University College London Choral Society (early '60s); more recently The Sterndale Singers in Sheffield (under the late and much lamented Jim Wild, tragically killed a few years ago in a car accident - my musical debt to Jim is incalculable) and Yorkshire Chamber Choir (now Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir) in Wakefield.

After a lifetime working for a number of very big insurance companies as a Risk Control Surveyor, I've finally 'seen the light' and taken early retirement to become a self-employed Risk Control Consultant (and a lot more fun it is)!! Margaret and I now live in the small village of Upper Denby, between Penistone and Denby Dale. We have 3 excellent children (all have now 'flown') and an excellent little grandson (Jonah - born August 2003 to daughter Helen).
